It's hard to believe that Riley is approaching his first birthday but then again, it's also hard to remember a time when he wasn't part of our little family. Every day, we get more of his personality and he figures out something new.
After Joe returned from his trip, Riley got a kick out of climbing around in Daddy's suitcase. I don't think he could have figured out how to get in there a month ago. Well, maybe in but not out. ;)
He is so close to walking - he motors around the furniture all day - and there are moments where he lets go and stands without leaning on something. Those moments get longer every day. Last week, I stood him in front of me and he took one step towards me before falling on his butt. The question now is, will he do it before Christmas?
To think that we thought we'd have to go back to the fertility clinic to have another and now, here he is, our little surprise, about to go from a baby to a boy.
