I'm WAY overdue on blog posts so I'm trying to catch up.
We celebrated Riley's first birthday with some family and a few friends the day before his actual birthday. A few balloons, a cake and some gifts and we were set. Our friend Michelle sweetly made a pin-the-tail game for the kids in a pirate theme - Joe's favorite. ;)
Riley wasn't quite sure what to make of the cake but he was watching everything intently. Of course, the big kids were more than happy to participate.
He actually didn't eat that much of it when all was said and done.
The present opening was coached by Evie, naturally. It was hard for her to get (or accept?) that the gifts weren't for her but fortunately, Riley didn't protest too vigorously.
It's hard to believe Riley is only a year old and yet, it feels like he's been with us forever.
