It was a perfect day today - the kind of weather that makes you glad to be alive and living in Minnesota. After Riley's morning nap, we packed the kids in the stroller and took a walk to our local park. Riley hung out with me on the grass while Evie got reacquainted with the swing and Joe pushed. She used to love the swing but for some reason, this summer she started acting cautious about it. We were glad to see her enjoy it again.
Evie discovered a small, green bug (a baby grasshopper perhaps?) and she's fascinated with bugs lately. She likes to point out every one she sees. I let it crawl around on my hand for her and then she watched it on the bench for a while saying, "hi! hi!".
Unfortunately, after watching it for a while, it flew onto her hand which she did not like and in trying to shake it off, she stood up and bumped her head on the bench - poor sweetie!
The crying didn't last long but I felt really bad for her. A promise of going 'fast, fast' on the stroller ride home helped. It was a good little family outing.

I want to go to that park and enjoy that kind of weather. It sounds like a great day, make sure you save some cool temps for us when we come. See you soon.
