We set up on the beach when we got there and Evie hit the sand with her Daddy right away.
She loved using the sand toys and was very excited when our friends showed up a few minutes later. I love when she gets excited about something - it is so cute!
Riley is our mellow man - he just hangs out and takes it all in. I can't believe how easy he is (so far!) when everyone kept telling me the second would be harder.
Riley 'hung out' on the beach with his buddy, CJ. They played a little tug-o-war with some toys and CJ was kind enough to refrain from making fun of Riley's hat. Or, maybe he was afraid Riley would squash him if he did. ;)
Evie readily ventured into the water with Daddy - she must have been a fish in another life. The clouds were rolling in but we kept telling ourselves that it was going to blow over. Evie and her friend Liam and their dads played in the water until they decided to check out the water playground. The babies played on the beach until we heard thunder and then, everyone was ordered out for a half hour.
That actually corresponded with lunchtime so it wasn't so bad. The rain didn't last long and then the kids were into the playground again. Evie figured out that there were water faucets where she could fill up her little bucket and she loved that.
Little man was happy to watch Evie play and figure out what she was doing. (Doesn't he look like such a little man in this photo?! It looks like we've cut his hair but I swear we haven't.)

Before we left for naptime, Joe took Riley under one of the sprayers to see what he thought of it. His face when the water touched his feet was priceless! I took a little video to capture the moment.

I love Evie's face in the water faucet picture. That is so great! It is great that she loves the water. Riley does look like a little grown man, it will be fun to see if his personality changes in time.
