No summer visit would be complete without a trip to the beach so we took our friends to our favorite, Shady Oak. The girls took to the water like fish and their Daddies obliged with lots of playing and splashing.
Buddy even got in on the action with his first dip in the water. He wasn't quite sure what to think about it but he wasn't upset to be in there either so that's a good sign. Too kids who love the water would be their Daddy's dream come true!
We also spent some time in the water playground before lunch. Evie loves the bubbling fountains and discovered that if she collected water in her bucket, she could throw it up in the air over her head. She loved it! It was a perfect beach morning and when we got home and went down for naps, the clouds and the rain came in so we timed it just right.
We also got in a little sand time with the girls digging and scooping with gusto. At one point, I had Riley on the blanket and reached to grab some sunscreen. When I turned around, he was scooting along, grabbing handfuls of sand and stuffing it in his mouth! I guess the days of stationary babies is over for me. ;)
